Koji just got back from the successfull New York Custom Knife Show, which is one of the major shows for him to say hello to his regular and repeat customers. He always enjoys attending the shows and meeting with knife enthusiasts. He wants to attend more shows in the world to give everyone a chance to see his work of arts, but regrets for the limited time and chance.

For those who missed or can't visit his shows, we will introduce here some of his latest works available for purchase at the same prices sold at the shows. JKD Exclusive VG-10 Damascus Kiridashi

Koji has been a long time friend of mine for almost 30 years. When he started making custom knife in 1988, I have traveled lots with him to various American and other international knife shows to help English communication and promote his knives at his tables. Now, as you know, he has established the top position of Japanese custom knife craftsmen and is aggressively introducing his work of arts influenced with traditional Japanese objects at the major knife shows in the world.

About a month ago, Koji has approached me with an idea to make one piece construction Bamboo style Kiridashi Knife (Japanese Craft knife) out of the VG-10 core layered with Nickel and stainless Damascus steel. After hand grinding and shaping from the solid steel blank, he has oxidized the blade and handle. The result was a beautiful silver lines and bamboo designs coming out from a black background. He explained me that the Nickel layers stand out in silver, as it is not oxidized.

We have then decided to make 30 pieces each and offer to JKD customers exclusively with a wooden gift box and serial numbers (01 to 30). For those who wanted Koji Hara knives, but could not attend his shows or wait several months to get his knives, this will be a great opportunity to acquire his work of art at a reasonable price. Now, we have only one piece of each model here (Serial numbered “01”), and another 29 pieces of each are in production. We expect to get those soon, but please allow some times to deliver.
